The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation appeals to all citizens not to engage in illegal online gambling. Gambling on such websites is a crime and may bring very serious consequences to the relevant personnel. It further deprives governments of opportunities to raise tax dollars that can be used for various government and social programs.

That's why PAGCOR wants anyone who wishes to gamble to do so only on licensed and regulated gambling sites that have a license to offer video games or electronic bingo. Meanwhile, PAGCOR has been actively working to limit the reach of illegal gambling in the Philippines.

 

Regulators, which also operate casinos in the Philippines, insist that steps need to be taken to prevent players from falling victim to scams, or falling prey to identity theft or credit card fraud.

 

It cooperates with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). It also works with the Department of Justice (DoJ) and Office of Cybercrime (OOC), as well as the Bureau of Immigration (BI). Regulatory authorities reminded that criminals involved in the proliferation of illegal gambling will be pursued and investigated by multiple domestic regulatory agencies.

 

PAGCOR has reminded licensed operators to comply with AML and KYC standards and requirements to better protect gamblers from harm. The regulator further seeks to help consumers better understand how to identify and discover licensed sites and avoid others, arguing that responsible gambling information and PAGCOR's license will be visible on the front page.

 

PAGCOR has also been investing in responsible gaming, aiming to help players gamble responsibly and indeed identify licensed gaming options rather than shady offshore alternatives.
